How to solve the problem of tinted green video?

Polonia home matches is played at St Benedict’s School and the video always turned out green.  I noticed it but I never did anything about it or even thought about it.  That was until I was taking photos for the Super 8s Statistics at the beginning of the year and it was green.  Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew there was a fluorescent option and that would solve the problem.  I played around the camera’s settings and found it was a white balance issue.  I was then able to take non-green tinted photos.  Great.

It was then I thought I could do the same for video.  I looked at the camcorder’s settings and played around with it but I couldn’t see a white balance option.  A few weeks later, I met Polonia’s promoter/ video producer named Bartek said he could fix it (we had been conversing on Facebook before this).  I was doubtful but he played around with it for about 5 minutes and he managed to find a white balance option.  I was amazed that he did it and problem solved.

So that is another lesson learnt along the performance analysis path.  Although it is late in the season but from now on, there will be no more green-tinted or red-tinted match videos.
