Hotel Transylvania (2012)

Director: Genndy Tartakovsky
Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teenaged daughter.
Ah, yes, monsters! Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man… I love it! ‘Hotel Transylvania’ features stunning animation. It also has a unique premise where monsters fear humans.
This is a great script and fantastic storytelling, encompassing so much more than meets the eye. On the surface, this might look like just another kids animated movie, but as it progresses, it also touches on very tender subjects. Having said that, this is a fun movie young and old will enjoy. The voice cast was also perfect!
While a lot of humor would greatly appeal to a young audience, it is never too cartoonish not to be enjoyed by adults. The dialogue is funny and very original, given the premise. I loved the Jonathan character, who was just a very cool and very open-minded character. I enjoyed watching him and Dracula become friends.
From the touching back stories to the laugh-out-loud humor, ‘Hotel Transylvania’ is a hilarious adventure to enjoy again and again. And with that fabulous finale, one can’t help but still smile long after the credits have rolled. I thoroughly enjoyed this!
‘Hotel Transylvania’ was a huge sensation. It earned $358 million on an $85 million budget. It received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature Film, and a further 17 nominations.
Would I watch it again? Yes.
