Hip Hop artist from Eswatini (Swaziland), Malcolm.E recently released the EP cover artwork of his new upcoming project R.T.T (Rapper Turned Terminator). The cover is a futuristic portrayal of the hip hop artist created by Christopher Masuabi AKA Plasmic Rapture; a highly talented South African concept artist and illustrator based in Cape Town.

Malcolm.E says his objective with this EP cover was to showcase the changes he has been going through in music and life in general. “I believe that over the last 2 years I have grown into a different and more advanced artist, so when I was thinking of a name for my new project I wanted something that represented my growth as I person and as an artist. I then came up with Rapper Turned Terminator because I feel like I am transforming into a version of myself that is unstoppable and will fight to the end for what he loves.”

To interpret this transformation visually, he approached Plasmic Rapture to create the artwork. He briefed him on the idea of having a picture of himself on the cover but also adding robotic features to his body.

“We agreed that 10% of my body would be turned robotic while the rest is still human. The whole point of that is because I feel as I have only reached 10% of my capabilities as an artist and this project is a documentation of my growth to being the best version of myself and reaching 100% of my capabilities.”

Plasmic Rapture says, “Seeing as the album is named Rapper Turned Terminator, I already knew that I was the perfect fit for the album cover art due to the fact that cyborgs and robots are my favorite things to design and draw. So for this album cover, I took the sheer steeze and dopeness that is Malcolm.E and transformed him in to an Emcee Cyborg that’s ready to take on any rapper man enough. Thanks to Malcolm.E for allowing me to showcase my skill on such a phenomenal work of art.”

“The message of this project is to showcase my growth and hopefully inspire others to chase their dreams.” concludes Malcolm.E.

R.T.T features 9 tracks and is set to be released on all major commercial digital platforms on Friday 20 December 2019.
