Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)

Director: John McNaughton

Starring: Michael Rooker, Tracy Arnold, Tom Towles

Henry, a drifter, commits a series of brutal murders, supposedly operating with impunity.

What really goes on inside the mind of a mentally sick person? I am so sorry I ever watched ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’…

The film is very well acted. Tom Towles in particular was very good as Otis. ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ is loosely based on actual killers Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. The fact the film is based on actual events, makes it that much more disturbing. Victims were randomly chosen simply by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is a vile, sadistic, disgusting, morally degrading movie. It was sickening to the core, and also ends on a chilling note. I never want to see this again. This was a very unpleasant watch.

‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ won numerous awards including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director…

Would I watch it again? NO.
