Gulph Mills tops EK 3-2
Gulph Mills is now 6-1 with Haverford, Lakeside and the Pirates to play. We are 5-2 with the Fit Hits, Haverford and Lakeside to play.
Where we ran into trouble was at singles. Gulph Mills trotted out a newcomer to the USTA Daniel Govberg, at #1 singles and he won solidly against Matt Diaddezio. As previously stated, it’s always disturbing when the other team’s ringer beats our ringer. I thought we couldn’t lose at #1 singles and oh yes, we could.

Once you drowned out the incessant noise from all the vuvuzela’s, what the match really boiled down to was 4 convincing wins – 3 for Gulph Mills and 1 for us. 2nd doubles was a battle and kudo’s to Rob Laiacona and Joey Zaza (a.k.a. Joe Sassa) for winning 6-4 in the 3rd set.
We are a competitive team with the goal of making Districts. What’s done is done – lets see how well we react in the face of adversity. If we advance in the end we’ll be a better team for having gone through this. Keep the faith.
Since I have nothing else to talk about… A fly never goes more than 100’ from their birthplace. 4 Million Peeps are produced each day. Who e

ats Peeps outside of Easter? Try freezing them – mmmmm. Finally, a kiss is healthier than a handshake. Think about it.
It’s not what happens to you (or your team) that’s important. It’s how you react. We play the Fit Hits this Saturday. Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Heck no! And it ain’t over now!
