Grouch Bag: A Groucho Marx (and Marx Brothers) Finding Aid

Happy Groucho Marx’s birthday! There is never a time when Groucho’s name is NOT out there flitting around the culture like a medfly (“gadfly” was already taken), but we seem to be in a heating up period. Just a couple of days ago I was binging The Morning Show (not recommended) and caught a 2021 episode in which his 130th birthday was prominently celebrated. Geoffrey Rush is starring in an upcoming bio-pic based on Steve Stoliar’s Raised Eyebrows. And there will be much, much more Marx Brothers news to announce and report over the course of the next nine months though I’m not yet authorized to divulge any of it! Nyah, nyah!

Travalanche already has a Marx Brothers section with over 125 posts, as well as a dedicated Groucho section with over 35 pieces. These might be fun to surf, but are not organized in any way that might assist a reader in efficiently digging out information. So I thought I would mark this Groucho Day by introducing a Finding Aid to make that aspect easier. It doesn’t include ALL of my posts on the brothers by a long way, just some key helpful ones. I hope you find it useful!

On the Marx Brothers as a Team

Just Groucho:

Again, the entire Marx Brothers section of Travalanche is here, containing around 100 additional posts beyond those linked here, mostly concerning what are essentially footnotes in the career of the Marx brothers, or contemporary Marx Brothers related news. Similarly, another couple dozen in the Groucho section here. And as I say there will be much more to add over the next few months.
