Good Barbecue in the DC Area!
Don’t get too excited. It was from North Carolina. We went to a send-off for my first cousin once removed Murray Johnston, Founder and First president of the St. Anselm’s Abbey School Barbecue Club, at his home in Alexandria. Murray is off to West Point to begin their summer boot camp for entering students.
Featured on the menu were the of the two most important food groups, barbecue sandwiches and pimiento cheese sandwiches.

Excellent. Murray brought the barbecue up from Wilson, NC. There is some question as to whether he got it at Bill’s the traditional Griffin family barbecue of choice in Wilson, or at Parker’s. At any rate, he made a good choice and through his silence is showing real wisdom.

Liza kept remarking about how impressive he has become. As usual, she is right. His parents, Ann Thomas Griffin Johnston and Murray Johnston, have done a good job. No surprise there.
