God Will Ultimately Get His Way

“. (Proverbs 19:21)

How often do you look back on a situation you thought should go one way, but it went another way, and then you were glad it didn’t go your way?

When that happens, we are reminded that God is sovereign, and we are not. God’s decreed will cannot be thwarted by any one or anything in the universe He created. This is one of the reasons that we ought to always give God the glory in every situation – “” (I Corinthians 10:31).

Kings or Presidents may appear to be in charge, but they aren’t. Everything is under God’s sovereign charge – “” (Proverbs 21:1).

King Nebuchadnezzar, who thought he was the world’s only sovereign, came to realize who was really in charge – “” (Daniel 4:34-35).

God will ultimately get His way. He will ultimately win. Every day we see people trying to remove His name and influence from the grounds of a courthouse or federal legislation, but the reality is that God can even use these evil efforts for good – “” (Romans 8:28). And the reality is that He will ultimately win.

Our best plans and best efforts will not trump God’s sovereign plan.

Does this mean our God is egotistical? No, it means He is glorious, because God doesn’t err, and God does what is always right.
