Getting Back into the Swing of Things: The 2012 Season Starts
Yesterday was my first match into a new season. I had to delve in the back of the cupboard for all my performance analysis gear (camcorder, tripod, netbook, AC adatopters etc) and make sure it was all charged up and ready to go. On the match itself, it all came back to me pretty quickly. My live stats skills with StatEasy were a little rusty though but I got into it pretty quickly.

I was surprisingly approached by the other team’s analyst. He was new to the analysis and he asked me about the software I was using (StatEasy). I went on to talk about its capabilities and how it was a neat little software. It reminded me of my first stint into analysis when I approached Matt Bianco about DataVolley. What I knew about performance analysis then and what I know about it now is a chasm.
The new season in the National Volleyball League also reminded me of the travelling involved. Twelve hours out of the house and I was shattered. Welcome to the new season
