High School: Elk County Catholic High School
Sports: Golf and track and field at Elk County Catholic and swimming for the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch as a part of a swimming co-op between the schools
Additional Involvement and Accomplishments: Krise is involved with envirothon club and has been inducted into the National Honor Society
Commitment: Western Colorado University to continue her swimming career. Western Colorado is a public institution located in Gunnison, Colorado and is home to around 3,500 students. The institution competes at the NCAA Division II level and are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). Western Colorado is known as the Mountaineers in athletics.
Why She Chose Western Colorado: “I found Western Colorado on the recruiting website NCSA. I chose the school and program because I really liked the campus, location in Colorado, the coaching staff, and my future teammates.”
Swimming Accolades: 100 butterfly program record holder and a multiple time state qualifier with Blue Tide in YMCA Swimming and the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch high school team
Intended Major: Engineering
What Blue Tide Swim Team Means to Her: “I started in second grade as a swimmer with Blue Tide and have been with the team ever since. I am really close with the team and coaches. It has been a big part of my life and I love getting to know and help with the little kids now that I am one of the older ones with the organization.”
What Her Time at Elk County Catholic Means: “I love coming from a school with such a tight-knit community.”
What Participating in the Swimming Co-Op Means: “I am thankful we have a co-op because it has opened up so many opportunities for me. I would not be the same athlete or person I am today without having the chance to swim for a high school team or the coaches that I have had these last four years.”
Top Athletic Memories: “Trips to states and competing there with my high school teammates.”
Her Support System: “My mom, Christa Wright, has been my biggest supporter. I’m also super thankful for my Blue Tide coaches, Katie Lanzel and Elizabeth Thowart, and high school coaches, Mark Demuro and Emma Leithner.”
