Name: Brock Wensel

High School: Kane Area High School

High School Sports: Baseball, Basketball, and Golf

High School Accolades: In baseball, he was voted as a league all-star as a senior, hit the 100 career strikeouts mark, and was voted team Most Valuable Player. In his golf career he was a district qualifier, two-time all-star, and was a part of back-to- back league championships. As a varsity athlete, he was awarded 10 total letters which included four years for baseball, three years for golf, and three years for basketball. To cap off his high school career, he was also voted as our Kane’s 2025 Male Athlete of the Year.”

College Commitment: To continue his academic and athletic career at Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pennsylvania. The Mount Aloysius Mounties are a member of NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). The institution is a private, Catholic, liberal arts college that’s home to around 1,000 students.

Why He Chose Mount Aloysius: “I chose Mount Aloysius because it was the right schooling environment for me and a great baseball team all around. They have a strong coaching staff along with a great group of players who all want to win.

Intended Major: Business and Sports Management

Travel Ball Experience: “Growing up, travel ball was my whole summer and is what I looked forward to every day. It was great getting to meet new players and play at the highest level of competition. In my time, I mainly played for the Northeast Twins and the State Line Show travel ball organizations. I  cannot say enough about the Twins and State Line Show and what they mean to me and have done for me. If you are looking to play baseball at the next level, they will get you the tools and show you all the ways to get there. You are put in an environment with coaches who all have college and even some have professional experience. They will take any player in no matter the skill level and teach and train them to be the players they want to be. Coach Jerico Weitzel and his dad Jay for the Twins, and coaches Mike Beimel, along with his son Michael, and Coach A.J. Meeker, and his son Jake, are all great coaches who teach kids to play the game the right way, while also playing winning ball.”

Favorite Athletic Memories: “There are so many memories I have made from sports, but the best memories are always just having the most fun with your best friends playing the games that you all love. Being together every day creates a family bond that won’t ever be broken. Other memories include winning multiple tournaments throughout my travel baseball years and getting to play at the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The trips that travel ball took me on created many memories to look back on and helped me meet some of my closest friends.”

What His McKean County Roots Mean: “My roots from my small town of Kane and McKean County mean a lot to me. It proves that kids that come from small towns can still make themselves known and make their dreams come true. Kane sports fans are truly like no other. It was great to have their unmatched support throughout my career. No matter how good our team was, Kane fans always showed up and came with energy, which always helped fuel the team. The coaches want it all for their players and there is always a community that is brought together at any Kane sporting event that will be filled with great pride for their school and hometown.”

A Thank You to His Family: “The main people I would credit with getting me to where I am today are my parents. They are the ones who always pushed me to be the best I can be. They always took me to my travel ball games and practices with no complaints or second guesses, even if they were hours away from home. My parents are my biggest supporters who never miss a game for anything. Along with my parents, I have grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who constantly share their support with me as well as celebrating my successes.”
