GANAVYA – In Memoriam Prashant Bhargava: Nithākam | Gershwin’s Summertime | Unplugged Live (2015)

Ganavya sounds like Mother Earth. When she starts singing, it’s a musical Big Bang, an elegiac cosmogenesis that begets the music of the spheres (musica universalis).

Prashant Bhargava (1973–2015) was a highly regarded Indian-American filmmaker, screenwriter, and visual artist known for his poetic and visually stunning works. Born in Chicago, Bhargava initially trained in computer science and graphic design before moving into filmmaking, where his background in visual arts deeply influenced his style.

“Summertime” by George Gershwin, translated to Tamil (Nithākam) by Ganavya. Recorded in Cut Records, Valencia, Spain. Featuring Albert Sanz on piano and Pablo Martín Caminero on double bass.

Video editing by Pablo Martín Caminero. Dedicated to a dear and wonderful friend, Prashant Bhargava, who taught us to love without reservation, and to be unapologetically real, without fearing any consequential vulnerability.

Please look up his work. I really believed in it. http://prashant.tv

I encourage you to reach out to someone today and offer your unconditional help in his memory.
