Friday’s Musings

Not much out there right now in the volleyball world.  The calm before the storm.  I plan to post my predictions for each West Region Conference next week and end it on Friday with my top teams from the region.  I was really hoping to see more rosters updated but I guess the SIDs have more important things to do than worry about my needs at the moment.  I’ve already started to think and write how I want the weekly scores to be presented in a Thursday/Friday blog post.  My goal is to try to link to as many video and live stats that are available for the games of interest in the west.  My first attempt at the week 1 scores included every game for every team.  Yeah, that’s not going to happen.

I’m really kicking around the idea to fly to San Antonio on the 1^st and/or 2^nd for what looks to be some great games at Trinity.  Trinity usually does a good job at broadcasting games but they only do it on their main floor.  The back gym games don’t get streamed.  This means on Friday we’ll most likely get the Whitman/Trinity, Oshkosh/Cal Lu and Calvin/Trinity matches.  The Oshkosh/Calvin match will probably only have Live Stats.  On Friday they will probably stream the Oshkosh/Trinity, Calvin/Whitman and Trinity/Cal Lu matches.  Missing out will be the Calvin/Cal Lu match.  Maybe I’ll wait to decide until Trinity updates their schedule with this information.  Some good matches in Claremont and Pomona that first weekend, too.  I’m very interested in how UTD, La Verne and Chapman look this year and all will be at those matches.  28 days and counting!
