Fresh Challenges = New Learning Experience

This season I am the Assistant Coach and Analyst for Polonia IMKA London.  They are one of the best women’s teams in England.  I am excited to be with them because it’ll be the highest ranked team in volleyball that I have worked with (the Super 8s Statistics don’t count because it is data collection rather than analysis).  It will also provide me with fresh challenges specific to the team which will in turn give me new learning experiences.

Already, I have faced some new challenges:

1.   – this includes positional data in which I have never done before. 2.   – of all the spreadsheets I have built (e.g. see link), I can put in the best elements of each one all into one spreadsheet. 3. – I have not done a lot of live statting for a team so this will give me the opportunity to really push myself in this regard. 4.  – finding alternatives to producing videos other than iMovie (since I don’t have it in London).

I have been given a lot of leeway by the Head Coach so I can’t wait to see what can be done over the course of the season.  Hopefully, it will be a successful one and then I can claim it was all down to me!
