Food Court Items Offered in 2025

Jan 20, 2025
5 min read

The Costco food court has some staples that have lasted a long time (Things you didn’t know you didn’t know about Costco!) and other items that have only remained on the menu for a limited time (Final Post About Changes in 2024). There are always changes to the menu and there likely will be some in 2025 (in addition to the switch to Coca Cola (Changes Planned for Costco in 2025)). However, at the start of the year, these are the 10 items one can expect see on the menus. I have to admit I was a little surprised by this list as some items I have never seen on the menu at local stores and because I know there are differences across stores (both in the country and internationally (Costco food courts around the country and the world)). I will write about each item on the list. If readers have recently seen different and/or additional items on your local menus, please let us know and where they are!

10 Items on the 2025 Costco Food Court Menu

1. Pizza ($1.99/slice; $$9.95/pizza)

I have written about the popular pizza at Costco multiple times (Even More) Tips for Shopping at Costco); (Food court nutrition: Info you may not want to know); (Secrets of the food court)). Costco has as many locations selling pizza as the larger chains (Secrets of the food court). However, it offers far fewer options, with only cheese and pepperoni on the menu.

Although I don’t imagine that the pizza is the best quality, it is a safe option. Even bad pizza tends to be edible and is generally appealing to people of all ages.

2. Hot Dog ($1.50 with soda)

The hot dog has been on the menu since 1985. It remains a staple based on its popularity due to its large size (1/4 pound) and its low cost. Members ordering this food court favorite can add ketchup, mustard, relish, and diced onions.

Members are definitely getting a good deal when ordering the combination.

3. Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($2.49)

A new item to the food court introduced in late 2023 that will carry into the new year is the Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie. The 5.5-ounce buttery and chocolatey cookie is served warm.

This item makes me wish the food court was kosher because it looks so good. Many were upset when this cookie replaced the churro. However, I would choose this cookie any day. I love warm, soft, buttery chocolate chip cookies. I think it would be even better with some of the vanilla ice cream!

4. Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad ($6.99)

In contrast to some of the other items on the menu, the Chicken Caesar Salad is a healthier menu option. It is making a reappearance for the first time since the Spring of 2023 with two notable changes. First, the chicken used is now the Costco rotisserie chicken. Second, the salad no longer contains cherry tomatoes. The 31-ounce salad consists of chicken, parmesan cheese, croutons, and creamy Caesar dressing.

Given some of the appalling nutrition statistics of some of the food court items (Food court nutrition: Info you may not want to know), it is nice for people to have a healthier option. These salads are one use of the chickens that are approaching the two-hour limit (Costco Surprises). If I were to eat these, I’d be disappointed to no longer have the tomatoes included (although I know traditional Caesar Salad does not include tomatoes).

5. Chicken Bake ($3.99)

The Chicken Bake is another food court item that has been around a long time and continues into 2025. Designed to be eaten with the hands, it is made from a crispy crust filled with chicken, cheese, Caesar dressing, and bacon. Some criticisms of the current version are that it is smaller and less stuffed than the original.

I have to admit that this item is one that I have joked with family about how terrible it sounds. However, it has been on the menu for a long time so clearly people like it.

6. Chicken Bacon Sandwich ($6.99)

Whereas some items have remained constant on the menu, others undergo frequent change. One example is a sandwich, ranging from the short lived Roast Beef Sandwich in 2023, to the Turkey and Swiss Sandwich in 2024. The latest version started in summer 2024 and is carrying into 2025 is the Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. This sandwich contains oven-roasted chicken breast, cheddar cheese, bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, and a mayo-mustard spread on a ciabatta roll. Although planned to stay on the menu, some predict that it won’t last the year given how quickly the sandwiches seem to change.

I am surprised that Costco added this sandwich to the menu, given that one of the reasons proposed for the lack of success of the other sandwiches was the time and labor required to prepare them. This sandwich contains even more ingredients than the others (including two spreads). Therefore, it seems too “fancy” and labor intensive for the food court.

7. Ice Cream ($1.99/cup; $2.49/sundae)

The flavors of ice cream occasionally change. Vanilla is always offered but chocolate recently replaced strawberry. Members can order plain ice cream or they can get a sundae with either chocolate or strawberry topping.

The ice cream is the other item that makes me want a kosher food court. I love ice cream and soft serve is an occasional treat. The vanilla served in the food court is the delicious Kirkland ice cream (Product Review: Kirkland Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream) made into soft serve. I don’t know the brand of chocolate but I wouldn’t be surprised if is made by the same company that produces the vanilla for Costco (Humboldt Creamery). I’d actually prefer twirl but that was not listed as an option. The sundae with vanilla and chocolate syrup sounds good. However, in general I prefer sundaes with hard scooped ice cream and actual hot fudge.

8. Fruit Smoothie ($2.99)

Costco stopped serving the fruit smoothie to test a mango smoothie. However, although popular in Hawaii, the mango was not a big succe, leading to the return of the original in October 2023. These 16-ounce smoothies Ate made from strawberry, blackberry, and açaí and do not contain added sugar or artificial flavors.

I didn’t realize that these smoothies had disappeared. I knew that mango smoothies were sold in Hawaii but didn’t know they were also offered on the mainland. The smoothies sound very good.

9. Cold Brew Latte Freeze and Cold Brew Mocha Freeze ($2.99)

Costco offers two iced coffee options. The Mocha Freeze is the Latte Freeze with added chocolate.

I was completely unaware of these drinks on the menu. They both sound good for coffee lovers and like a nice drink to sip as members shop.

10. Soft Drinks (69¢)

Although Costco plans to switch to Coca-Cola products in 2025, the current fountains contain Pepsi-brand soft drinks (Pepsi; Diet Pepsi; Mountain Dew; Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea; Tropicana Lemonade). The drinks are sold in 20-ounce cups and enable free refills.

These sodas are a very good deal (I have seen restaurants charging $2.50 for a can of soda!) and members could drink one cup while in the store and then refill the cup on the way out. It is a lot of liquid (and sugar with many of the options) but a way to take full advantage of the deal.

What do you think there 2025 food court offerings? Any you miss? Any others at your local Costco?
