First Job Interview but No Cigar
Today I had a job interview for a paid football internship with Leicester City I applied 2 weeks ago (see link). It went well but unfortunately I did not get the job. I did receive some nice feedback for the interview itself which was great. However, the biggest thing against me was lack of experience in football. I did recognised it as a weakness of mine at the start of the year (see link) so big shame.
The person that did get it, Jamie, is a good lad so congratulations to him. It also means there’s an opportunity for somebody to step in for UWIC Football and make something out of it (despite the season nearly finishing). Sometimes the best way of learning is diving in the deep end. More hard work is ahead of me. Talking of hard work, I can’t help but to remember a quote from David Brailsford (British Cycling’s Performance Director and Team Sky’s General Manager):
The hard work comes first and hopefully the belief will follow.
