Fact Checking With StatEasy

I have blogged before about fact checking using the score sheet.  There are also other accuracy checks that can be done within the statistics itself.  For example, when there’s a service ace there has to be an opposition reception error.  Thus, the total number of service aces must be equal to the number of opposition reception errors.  More accuracy checks can be done depending on what data is collected and how it is defined.  I am currently designing a new volleyball analysis system for my dissertation and I have tried to build as many in-built accuracy checks as I can.  Below is the accuracy checks I have so far for my new volleyball analysis system:

It is a bit disconcerting that there a few mistakes but it was the second time I have used this new analysis system.  It is also why I have these accuracy checks.  Below is what you get when you correct all of the mistakes (this screenshot is the reason why I wrote this blog post):

It took me a while but it is a beautiful sight when it looks like this.  Now I can be fairly certain that I have coded correctlyThis extensive accuracy checks will be a part of my future workflows.
