EULCS Week Seven Recap Summer 2018 Split
S.Samek
Here’s what happened during week seven of the EULCS. UOL and Splyce led off the action. Splyce controlled the map in pretty much every day. The dominance was real as Splyce held the Unicorns with out a kill for the entire match, blanking them 11-0 in that category. The perfect game win kept Splyce hunting for playoffs. Schalke and Roccat met up next. This match was a back and forth battle. Yet Schalke found an opening and exploited it to steal a win in 35 minutes. G2 and H2K were the third match of the day. H2K kept it close against one of the top squads in EU. However, G2 was able to fight off H2K and keep them winless for the summer split. The forth match of the day was Giants and Misfits. This was a one-sided match from the get go. However, it was the struggling Giants taking down the top tier Misfits. Fnatic and Vitality finished out day one. Vitality scored 20 kills to only 11 for Fnatic and were able to take the nexus to pick up the win. Day two started with H2K and Splyce. H2K found them selves in another back and forth match. Splyce would hold the kill lead, while H2K had more gold. The tide turned as H2K found a 4-1 team fight win in front of the dragon pit to use for momentum. The momentum then found its way to the nexus where H2K dropped it to win for the first time in summer 2018. Vitality took on UOL next. In a nothing fancy kind of win Vitality looked clean if a bit unspectacular. However, Chabochard did look spectacular with a 7/1/11 stat line for Vitality in the win. G2 and Fnatic battled in the rematch of the spring finals. While these matchups are always hyped this one didn’t live up to it. It wasn’t a close match as expected as Fnatic led by Bwipo rolled to an easy win. G2 continues to falter against Fnatic going 1-6 against them in 2018. Schalke and Misfits met up next. This match was even at the 24-minute mark in kills and gold. Yet over the next six minutes the wheels fell off the bus for Misfits. A qurada kill ended the game in style as Schalke took the victory. Nukeduck and Upset each had seven kills to pace Schalke. Giants and Roccat closed out the week. This one was close for the entire duration of the match. Yet Giants played it just a bit better to win and end the week 2-0. This week once more included a bit of everything in terms of types of games. It should be good viewing with the season really starting to wind down and the playoffs closer than they are far away. I think H2K gets the final shutout of the post thanks to getting a win and not having a chance to go winless for the whole split.
