End of May Update
A welcome change in the weather will now bring on the behind crops of everything.
It appears that apples have just set lightly – not surprising given the chilly May.
Tomatoes and french beans from our greenhouse (Dutch Light Structure) are particularly delayed, but both are showing just the odd blossom.
We are now pulling the earliest, stumpy carrots. They are variety bred for their shortness, but are packed with flavour and deliciously crunchy. We are also now planting out courgettes, pumpkins, beans and even a few sweetcorn.
