Dreams – 8/12
8/12/25: I was coaching and getting ready to play Iowa Western. My vision in the dream was a touch screen and I saw footage of IW playing Iowa State and saw their best athlete was Ashley Fearday (who played HS for me 25+ years ago) except she was really wide and puffy and she was running slides to the left instead of to the right–because she was left-handed.
8/12/24: I was in a room with a big black man and I was worried that his belly was going to burst and ants would come pouring out of him. Then things switched and I was on a tour of Chuck Matthews’ home.
8/22/23 #1: I was in a long narrow conference room at my old high school. I was part of a group of alumni working on a top secret mission to find a missing operative. Everyone had special abilities including an old alumni who was short, stout, and with a white bushy beard/mustache (that looked like Brian Doyle Murray) who was painting a weird mural that had an event from HS from each person in the room’s life. He was singing something (“Can-can, cha-cha”???) and the last bit of his painting was about Cthulhu. Then it turned out we had to find the fat headmaster’s daughter, so I got up and left the meeting.
8/22/23 #2: I was at a restaurant table–one of those black iron mesh patio tables–sitting with my back to windows that ran the length of the restaurant. Outside the windows was a beach. There were a dozen men crowding the small table even though the restaurant was empty. The 12 men were all German generals and I was supposed to be planning the defense of France. It was Spring, 1944 and I knew the Allies were coming on June 6. I was going to talk about Hitler being an idiot, but there were two SS generals present. Instead, I made a request of a list of every officer under their command–and that I needed it on a scroll instead of regular paper. All the generals thought this was brilliant but they were also frustrated because they couldn’t all reach their espresso cups on the table.
8/22/22 #1: I was in a grocery store buying vegetables when I heard people use a secret word, so I used it, too. I was permitted into a basement where people were playing rare games like Magic and Connect Four. There was a patio and a concessions stand there as well.
8/22/22 #2: I was playing volleyball for the Neoga VB team and we were playing Sigel St. Michael, except I was standing on the St. Michael side of the court in the basketball lane and my teammates kept passing me the ball so I could dunk it. The St. Michael coach (AD?) was really mad but someone (Neoga principal) kept yelling “Thems the breaks, sonny!”
