Dreams – 6/12

6/12/25 #1: I was in my grandparents house with Julie and our kids. It was night, but I looked out the window and everything was white and there was a storm. To the south, I saw a giant tornado and told everyone to get to the basement (the stairs were where the stairs to the attic are in real life). They all went downstairs, but I didn’t go down until I was able to grab my copy of Sher-Co Baseball, so that I could work on a project while we were in lockdown. 6/12/25 #2: I was in a dark dorm room sitting on a ‘director’s chair’. A black girl got out of a wheelchair and sat on my lap and said “You’re comfy” and gave me a hug but stood up once she found a cigarette that had been behind me. Then I wasn’t on a chair, I was on a couch, and a brunette on the couch/leaning against the window offered me her cigarette–it was hot but had turned into a piece of chalk/size of pencil eraser. She said “That’s more efficient” then grabbed me and pulled me on top of her for a kiss where her tongue then started into my mouth and tried to pull my tongue out of my throat. I closed my mouth and stopped her but I didn’t climb off of her because I realized it was Julie circa age 25-30 but she’d been possesses by an alien/demon. 6/12/25 #3: I was running a VB tournament in a small gym. There was a delay and two dads were complaining. One said it was against high school rules and he pulled out a Bible to make his point. I told him it was summer and HS rules didn’t matter. He then responded “Yes they do by ruling of the Grace Creek Athletic Commission.” I looked at our scorer–it was the UIU President–and I whispered to her “Is that a real thing?” She mouthed back, “I have no idea,” so I announced, “We’re doing a replay.”

6/12/24: I was in an airplane hangar. I was at a table and people kept walking up to a woman sitting in the back of a van and handing her pieces of paper. They were voting for Iowa State student government but no one was happy, so the woman taking the votes was trying to organize a coup by talking to people as they turned in their vote. I objected and suddenly had police grab my arms so I couldn’t move. At the far end of the hangar, I saw James Brown and some people (couldn’t tell male or female) dressed in all-white. Suddenly I felt compelled to point at Brown and someone (me? him?) yelled “Can you see the light?” Can you see the light?” and I broke free from the police, ran forward, and answered in John Belushi’s voice as I proceeded to do cartwheels. Brown looked at me as the police grabbed me again and I said, “I can’t do flips.” He nodded, “I understand.”

6/12/23: I was in a suit and tie with a group dressed similarly and we were part of a tour of London. We were walking down a street when someone said “I see our bus” and pointed at a parking garage. I didn’t see anything. Our bus was on the other side of the garage. Then we were lined up to board it and I was carrying a rectangular wrapped gift with a bow. I go on board, sat, and then I was in a chair on a stage with its curtain closed. On my right/just ahead of me was a blond woman in a red dress. To my left 20-30 feet away was a guy playing a guitar. He had a cast on his foot. He was playing as he did yoga poses of all sorts and I recognized him as “Dwight Schulze, guitarist for the Scorpions.” The woman ignored Schulze. I told him I had been a fan since 1983 then the woman said “1977” and the guitarist got up, she got up, and they walked thru a door at the front of the stage. Everyone on the tour started jeering me because she’d left “to have lunch” with the guitarist. Then I realized my chair was now a desk in a classroom and we were taking a test and I knew Peter Trenkenschuh (haven’t seen him since 1984? 85??) was cheating but the teacher was okay with it. She kept chanting “Work smarter, not harder.”

6/12/22 #1: I was standing outside in a residential neighborhood with some other people–including Matt Hensley. We were waiting for something like a bus to come by. It was sunny and the grass was green. We started as adults but kept getting younger. I got bored and started spinning like a top until I was so dizzy I fell down. Then I laid there just watching the clouds in the sky.

6/12/22 #2: Carl Costas convinced me to help out on a project. We studied the floor plan of a building then went to it with other people we knew. There were lots of students/people waiting in line and they looked at us coming in weird because we didn’t join the line. We found someone and said we were there to help. She took us to the woman in charge. This woman threw t-shirts at us and said we had to wear the company line and that she better not see us without wearing masks. We were catering employees now. I started to put on a red shirt–it was one of three. Then I ducked out of her view because she wanted someone to do dishes…and then I found I wasn’t holding three shirts, I was holding a lot more and they were too heavy, so they dropped to the floor. I couldn’t read the writing on any of the shirts.

6/12/21: In order for me to leave the room I was in, I had to play cards on the table. Each card I played cost “gold” and permitted me to move in certain ways–run/skip/sidestep/back up–and the number of times I could do the move. I was permitted to play combos of cards which then let me mix the movements I could make outside the room.

6/12/10: I was putting Hitler on trial in the basement of a Masonic Lodge. The main table was setup like the Last Supper. Hitler was standing in front of it when an SS officer grabbed him and threatened to kill him. No one moved, so the guy shot Hitler. I went out to the other defendents and said “Man, I hate Nazis, but I didn’t know Hitler was a mason.” Then Lauren Mason (VB alum) appeared and said, “He’s not a Mason.”
