Dreams – 5/30
5/30/25:I was outside a grocery store in the middle of a field. I was driving a new Cadillac. To the north, there was a big storm and I knew there was a fireworks show going on. I went into the store and saw Kent Davis (an expelled kid from HS). I knew he would cause trouble. I went outside and I couldn’t find my car. I hit the beeper on the fob and heard the car. Kent had buried it under a bunch of sod—I heard the car horn and it was honking “I’m suffocating”. I went back into the store to file a police report.
5/30/24: I was at the concierge desk in what I knew was a tall building. The desk was horseshoe-shaped. The man behind it gave me a cardboard envelope that I opened. Inside was either a bottle opener or an oversized teeth-flossing gizmo. I asked if that was it and he said yes, so I then asked “Have you checked the basement?” He sighed, looked at a computer screen, and said I had something down there and he would have to go get it. Then I realized I was in the building so that P. Stalling could celebrate the anniversary of firing me from Crossroads.
5/30/23 #1: I was sitting in a ‘classroom’ (what I THINK was Mrs. Sparrow’s first office where I went to grade/high school). Everything was black marble and glossy. I was in the back row bored when the principal (a combo of ‘the fat man’ and the T-Town superintendent) walked down some stairs into view carrying tests and paperwork for teachers to fill out. A gust hit the principal and papers flew everywhere, including around corners, forming a pattern that looked like the spray from Buckingham Fountain. I decided to help pick up the files and realized they’d landed in alphabetical and numerical order and that they’d been dropped intentionally to get me to pick them up because it was a trap.
5/30/23 #2: I was coaching VB and sitting above the court on the center line–but I don’t know what I was sitting on because there were no bleachers. My setter set the ball and it went just over the net. My hitter was really tall and swept it down with both hands. The ref said she threw the ball and raised his palm to signal it. I argued that wrist action was allowed but when I went to demonstrate, my hands/arms wouldn’t flex because I didn’t have wrists.
5/30/22 #1: I was with a group of people touring a mansion. We were at the base of a massive staircase with a plate glass window at the top. We walked up and were met by the owner, game designer David Thompson. He was with his wife Linda (Paul McCartney’s late wife…who apparently was not dead). They were wearing poofy sky blue terrycloth robes. David said we were welcome to explore the mansion and if we wished, he employed a game sommalier who could find games for us depending on our mood.
5/30/22 #2: I was driving my Challenger and started down the Division Street hill when it suddenly got narrow and the road ended as a wood balcony/restaurant overlook. I got out and saw it ended in a cliff and the Mississippi was a long way (infinite?) down. There was a guy on a sub-porch of the balcony. He asked if I speak Russian–because he needed to translate documents about a pistol’ provenance and that he only knew about three English owners. I said no. I then folded my car up into a briefcase, went into a different room, and was blinded by a bright white light.
5/30/21: I was in an airport looking at a massive arrival/departure board, except it didn’t have airplanes. It was revealing the top 200 volleyball recruits in the country. Everyone was upset at the rankings because no setters were chosen for the Olympic team. I was upset because I noticed “Demeris MacReady” was not on the list of 200 and I knew she should be because she was a 6’5 hitter going to Stanford from Iowa City North High School…and that the school’s colors were purple and gold.
5/30/10: Charlton Heston was using a sniper rifle against random people at a president’s speech–even shot his own dad before escaping in the Mystery Machine and then he rappelled down a 5-mile deep hole to live in a community of Tea Party enthusiasts under the Appalachians.
