Dreams – 5/29
5/29/25: I took my VB coaching staff to a scouting combine which would take place outside on grass with woods surrounding all the grass…except they were going to play football. My staff was sitting on a couch across from me–they were John Kruk and Boog Schiambi. I had a goodie-bag and in the bag was a giant alcoholic drink (that didn’t spill) along with a lot of plastic/fake grass. Schiambi picked up the drink and I took it away from him. Inside the drink, there were two other drinks. I gave Schiambi one that had black berries in it and I gave Kruk one that looked like a pina colada. I thought at them “Share and share alike”–because what was left in the big glass had the same amount. Mine was a margarita.
5/29/24: I was in a white room. There was a woman there who drew a line around herself with a marker–that was a home security system, so that if it was crossed, she said a person would be electrocuted. I took string and ran it from the door out onto a porch and taped it in place to make it look like my own security system.
5/29/23: I was at Quantico, Virginia, doing special training wearing a red hoodie. I needed a ride, so I climbed in the front of a truck with two other people. The driver kept swerving and it was pulling me into the middle person who asked “Are you gay or something?” I recognized the voice–it was Todd Cook, a former VB ref/club coach and he was suddenly in in a black tuxedo. When I noticed this, I was suddenly in a dining room with a bunch of other people dressed in formalwear while I was still in my hoodie. I was in a spotlight that followed me and everything else was dark so I couldn’t even tell how big the room was.
5/29/22 #1: I was coaching a VB team, “The Out of Illinois Squad” in the state championship. Only LLCC alumni from abroad, MO, and IN were on the team. I watched the end from a sky cam. Sarah Mueller won the match with a serve that hit the net and trickled over. I came down and Kayla H. was mad because she was totaling stats. I asked her–would you rather have kept stats or just be totaling them? She said, “Good point, Dietz” and we walked off the field.
5/29/22 #2: I was in a volleyball storage room. It went on forever like the equipment room from ‘The Matrix’. There were antennae of all types–clip on, ones with velcro straps. There were black ball carts everywhere. There were also old-school 1970s televisions on shelves. I didn’t question why the TVs were with the ‘normal’ gear.
5/29/22 #3: I was in a classroom taking a test when I decided to put socks on, but they embarassed me. They were white with red and blue stripes and said “Cubs Win” along the side. My mom saw me there. She wouldn’t look at me, but she was in a pink bathrobe, so I knew things were okay. We walked down a long street with an underpass and went into a building for a volleyball tournament. I wanted to check my team in, but the team wasn’t there. Neither was the desk attendant. I tried to read the schedule, but it was printed in 0.5-font, so I decided to wait, but then I couldn’t find my mom and had to wait all alone.
5/29/21: [fragment only] I’m standing on a baseball diamond except it is styled like a high school “pit” gymnasium. I want to go inside the dugout but I can’t because Tony LaRussa has put up sandbags and a machine gun nest to keep out ‘unAmericans’ so I couldn’t get closer to it than the pitcher’s mound.
5/29/10: I’m playing fullback on the US World Cup Team, playing against Britain…except the game is played where I attended grade school. Britain misses a kick and it rolls down the road to Mr. Ferris’s house. The goalie throws it back but doesn’t come back himself. Then I can’t stop the English striker and a shot goes past me causing the US to lose 1-0 so I go home and eat Poptarts.
