Dreams – 5/23

5/23/25: I was in my HS gym and a graduation was going on. A guy next to me asked me something about beads but when I tried to answer he was gone because they were reading graduates’ names. The grads were in black gowns with some sort of upside-down gold “V” around the outfits. Then I was suddenly in an alley on a hill at the top. Students in maroon and white were lining up on both sides with boxes of balloons and food and I was told this was tradition but they waited until graduates were out of the gym “because parents paid good money to see those degrees.” Behind me a fat man appeared wearing a yellow shirt that said “I’m Captain Ron” on it but he was trying to dress like Cpt. Kirk. He was the school administrator and he kept saying stuff but none of it was understandable. When he went through a door into the kitchen, someone said, “Okay, now we can have fun.”

5/23/23 #1: I wasd driving in Oklahoma and there was snow everywhere. I was on ‘the world’s most complicated exit system’ which was shaped like interlocking Zs. I couldn’t tell which way was north and then the road ended and turned to sand and I came across people walking the exit system dressed like pilgrims. They pointed a direction to me and I wound up in a building by a fireplace. There were two people there. The guy removed his coat and revealed he was Episcopalian and I said “I know you because I went to an Episcopal school!” (which is true)

5/23/23 #2: I was at a VB match in a small gym. It was JV and I was only helping but the official kept missing calls in favor of the other team, overruling the down-ref constantly and telling the other coach “I got you, hon!” The other team was in the net but the up-ref said it was us. I got involved and the up-ref said she’d ask the basketball players to decide. The guys asked her “Which way do we make the call, ma’am?” and I stomped my feet. The up-ref then declared the other JV team victorious. Then I was behind the stands in a ready-room/officials room and she refused to look at the rules and said she was following ‘NHSAA guidelines’ and had the right to ask basketball players. The next two officials showed up, I asked them, and they said in unison “If it isn’t seen, it can’t be called. You have to call a replay then.” I told the bad ref “I told you.”

5/23/22: I was playing a boardgame where the pieces all had odd shapes–like Tetris. When played, there was a chance you could cause an Indian Massacre to take place and if one did, the letters and words on the cards would glow orange and burn the chit and the board underneath. [Obviously related to playing a boardgame about American westward expansion 1860-1890 last night]

5/23/21 #1: I was part of a flight of F-14 pilots on a commando mission. Our planes were at the top of a cliff. We were supposed to pilot them remotely and then jump from underneath them to our objective. When it was my turn, the plane left without me. Same for one other pilot, so we had to make our way on foot. We wound up in a massive machine shed/barn and knew we were deep in Japanese territory because of the jungle and river running right next to the building. We hid from the Japanese and then ran across Dutch school children who were guerillas. We worked to escape but one of the kids waved to a guy who looked like HALO’s Master Sergeant which gave away our position. We had to run for it through the grocery aisles of the building where we found a machine gun the kids had hidden. I said me and the other pilot would provide covering fire while the kids escaped. We set the MG up to cover the cereal aisle as the kids waded into the river and headed downstream.

5/23/21 #2: I was on the ‘steps’ at the southeast end of the HS I attended. I was a POW of the Nazis. They brought in four prisoners while we watched. Then it wound up being some time later and the Gestapo drove up on the circle again with one of the four earlier POW and walked him up to the main doors. Mara Deleon (who has been dead in real life for 20+ years) whispered to me that they’d tried to escape by claiming they graduated and the Nazis killed the other three.
