Dreams – 5/19

5/19/24 #1: I was the umpire/catcher for a youth baseball game that ended 0-0. Two coaches were talking to their pitcher about how to win the game. I said nothing but figured it was because there was a 1.5° incline around all the bases (yet they weren’t Escher-like) which slowed people down. I turned around and realized the field was bone dry–the dirt was light-colored and cracked because of no rain, then I realized it wasn’t even a baseball field. It was a dirt street with lots of bumps/pockmarks–and it turned out to be the road/parking spaces leading to Eastern Illinois’ theater/cultural center. 5/19/24 #2: It was cold/winter and things were tinted blue/dark. I was parked watching Julie and Erick get into his vehicle in a different parking lot–they had been inside the building between them/me where I knew they were meeting about investments and retirement with Tom Melchert. When they left, I was going to follow them but my car wouldn’t move. This was because I forgot to haul in my anchor–so I pulled it in thru the driver-side window of the Caravan and put it in between the seats. It was heavy because it was covered in ice and butcher’s wrap paper. When I had it stowed, I was blocked in by someone who parked in the road in front of me. I could get out by backing up but cars kept coming until finally I could pull out directly sideways. I saw Erick’s car ahead of me but then the Caravan started turning left and I couldn’t get it to stop turning left. It did a 180° and I realized I wasn’t going to be able to follow them because my rudder was jammed.

5/19/23 #1: I was in a small room with “professional athletes” and umpires, and we were choosing our APBA cards. I wound up with the Cubs in “6th, 7th, and 8th grade” which I thought was a good deal, but the columns on all the cards were completely out of alignment. The head ump insisted we hand him the cards that were going to be our selection for the day’s starting lineup.

5/19/23 #2: [fragments only] I was near a movie box office part of Lincoln Land’s athletic department, but I needed to hide because I saw someone inside who was ‘out to get me’. Then there was mud and I was looking down at myself peering around the corner of a long metal warehouse.

5/19/22 #1: I was a center for the NY Rangers. We were playing in the Stanley Cup Finals against a team wearing red. We were in white. Instead of ice, we were playing on waxed granite and in our socks. I came off the bench and got free about 10-12 feet in front of the net, got a pass from the boards in the corner and took a shot, scoring in the two-hole.

5/19/22 #2: I was in the back of an ambulance with someone who was sick or dying. I was holding the person down because the driver was crazy. We were going fast, swerving, and making hard turns where I felt the wheels go off the ground. I finally was able to move towards the front part of the back to say something about the crappy driving, but the driver was Mrs. Loula, my 6th grade teacher. She was driving around downtown Chicago. I decided not to say anything because it could risk her getting REALLY mad.

5/19/22 #3: I was sitting on a couch in my grandparents’ living room, except it was a backstage lounge/green room in an auditorium. I was up next but instead of doing comedy, I was going to give the eulogy for my grandfather which was awkward because I knew he was in the audience that evening.

5/19/21 #1: I was running a volleyball practice with six girls along with my LLCC assistants and Todd from Allen CC. We didn’t have everybody because of some sort of an orientation or class mix-up. Suddenly everyone was there and we were going to work on blocking and hitting approaches so we had to also use the red net net/poles that were all solid colored like they were from an electric football set. The net/poles were also a single piece of plastic. It was not a good practice.

5/19/21 #2: I had a first-person view initially as “Mickey Mouse” looking out the window at bad guys dressed in black approaching us. Suddenly Mickey raised a finger and ‘drew a line’ that was purple like a laser and cut several of the bad guys in half. My view panned away and I found there were lots of bad guys around and not enough heroes to hold them off. We ran while Mickey was a rearguard.

In the parking lot, we spotted a boy dressed like Kenny from South Park sleeping on a bunch of luggage in the back of a rusted compact car. We tiptoed because the boy had mind-control powers and didn’t care if he used them on good or bad guys. We went inside the factory and had everyone sit in a circle for therapy. No one wanted to, but when it was done, a campfire was started in the middle and I told the heroes we had to finish the last cleansing rite. I pulled a white-hot branding iron from the campfire. Two ‘heroes’ screamed in terror. Then I laughed and said ‘No, we just need to hold hands and sing ‘Kumbaya’.
