Dreams – 4/16

4/16/25 #1: Bruce Lee was in my mom’s backyard. He was in black sweats and no top (like his movies). He was demonstrating willpower and kneeled down and then distended his mouth to stick a can of green beans completely into his mouth. He held it for a moment then let the can go. He had removed the lid with just the pressure of his teeth. Everyone was impressed, but I just wanted to know where my mom’s rose garden went. 4/16/25 #2: I was on our couch in Sigel under a blanket and had a pink zippered case on my lap. It had lots of white sticky pebbles in it–and I realized this was Linda Grensing’s “travel case” and that these were her security beads for keeping belongings from getting crushed. When I saw this, I knew her salary was the same as Julie’s

4/16/24 #1: I was in a school being chased by someone/something. The school walls and lockers were painted red. To escape, I tried to hide in lockers but I found that I could bang on the back of one and the bolts holding the back in place would pop out and I could climb thru the locker to the room on the other side which would up being the gymnasium except it had no doors–only other lockers which I knew I could knock the backs out to go to other rooms in the school. 4/16/24 #2: I was sitting in a small living room. There were small light-colored wood toys and baseball bats on the carpet next to Dave P. He thought “I’m ready” and dumped wood blocks onto the carpet while I moved to a loveseat with my camera as far from him as I could because this was going to be his yearbook photo. “This will be heavy,” I started saying over and over again. 4/16/24 #3: I was on a hospital floor and couldn’t find a bathroom. Nurses kept staring at me and I realized I was ‘aroused’ and naked as I walked all over the floor. No one would help me–they just stared. 4/16/24 #4: I was sitting someplace–but I couldn’t see furniture and there were no walls–it was just empty space. I was looking at red yearbooks and sorting them into chronological order because I had to prove I attended high school, but none of the pages would turn/open. I could only move the cover. Inside one yearbook, I found a piece of paper that had football and volleyball plays on it along with the name KRISTA KONRAD at the top left underlined. I didn’t know who that was, but I knew she had to be important. I closed that yearbook and just stared at the three in my lap.

4/16/23 #1: The high school I attended was also a movie production studio. None of the students in my grade would talk to me (which was a real thing), so I sat in the ‘old library’ outside the 5th Grade classroom with kids from two grades below me and we decided to make a movie about the teachers. One girl insisted it should be based around food, especually meatballs with spicy mustard.

4/16/23 #2: I was laying down in my office when Julie came in and said she thought it would be a great idea if I published a game featuring Robert Redford and that he would be happy to let me use his name and would probably arrange it so I could use “Peter Newman’s” as well [Peter was someone from grade school, rather than Paul who was in Redford films.] I blinked and then I was traveling on a map with a moving dot like on the Getaway pinball machine digital board. It stopped south of Des Moines and then I was in a game store. The store was really warm and had a sign in it saying “ORIGINS GAME OF THE YEAR: APBA BASEBALL” and under that “Mad Board for it wanted!” I stepped out of the door and heard a voice say “I’m sure they are disappointed you didn’t go to the store in Iowa City.”

4/16/22: I was eating lunch in the upper portion of the dining room where I attended grade/high school. My wife ordered me to get dessert from the lower level. I went to get it but the dining room expanded, so that the lower level was also part of a gymnasium where an NBA game was going on. I found the desserts in a fancy butter-holder. They were plastic popsicle tubes but the popsicles weren’t frozen. I also wondered what flavor they were since the color was amberish. I walked thru the basketball game to some lockers and other tables where Maria D. was serving ice cream from a portable/rolling freezer. I opened the freezer to put the popsicles in and she told me that wasn’t allowed. I told her I had popsicle certification so I put the popsicles on top of a barrel of orange/green swirled ice cream and left. I went around the lockers and bumped against someone. I apologized to Michael Gwaltney but saw that wasn’t who it was. I said, “Michael, Brent, Mark, sorry I got that wrong.” (It was Mark G.) He said, “I’m the best no matter what you call me.”

4/16/21: So…one of the dogs puked early this morning…4-freakin’-AM. Totally wiped my memory of the dream I was having, except for one weird thing. Since I woke up two hours ago, I cannot get the Seal song ‘Kiss from a Rose’ out of my head. It’s not a song I like or one I’ve heard on radio anywhere in years…yet here it is as an early-morning earworm. Dammit.
