Dreams – 4/12
4/12/25: I was watching a TV interview with Werner Klemperer and Bob Crane and the show was joking how you can’t hire your own boss and Crane kept smiling at Klemperer. Then the view switched and I was on my grandparents’ porch but it was part of Stalag 13 and there was rubble all over Palean Street. Colonel Klink was directing traffic when a tractor with two sets of three wheels and treads in a triangle on each side of the tractor went out of control and ran over Klink who then started whipping around like string caught in a fan–I figured he would be ok so I went back into the house.
4/12/24: I was in an empty white dorm room. I was undressed and realized I had homework to do. I couldn’t find the book I was looking for on the shelf, so I grabbed a big book to make it look like I was studying while I put pants on. I blinked and then I was a detective at home in my house when my boss came and said I needed to go to a crime scene to investigate a killing [details are gone]. In my house, I had a butler(?) who was black and wearing a Cubs jacket–and I asked, “Do you want to be a police officer?” He turned to me and I remembered his name was Mellon–and I recognized him as the actor who played the Boston detective in Georgia from Reacher…and realized he was doing research for an Academy Award-winning role.
4/12/23 #1: There was an alien invasion and they would take you over if you made eye contact, so I only looked down. I had a girl with me who was safe as well and we went walking through “Grand Central Station” and came across a newspaper boy who hadn’t been taken over and was looking for his mom. We all held hands and went back to my house which had a ton of steps covered in a red “VIP” carpet. Before we started up, I dropped my car keys. I couldn’t pick them up for some reason, so we went up and it turned out everything led up to my one room apartment. We still only looked down inside the apartment rather than look at one another.
4/12/23 #2: I was on a flat boat with two oarsmen and we were docking/coming ashore near a mansion. Everything was really quiet. Also on the boat were NBA player Tristan Thompson and Taylor Swift. We were dropping Thompson off–because Swift was no longer his friend/they were breaking up. He had to give her a set of keys and he took off a necklace that had a HUGE black fob with a silver button and returned them to Swift and then he signed some papers. He turned to me and gave me a hug and asked “Do we still get to be friends?” I said “Yes, I’ll see you at the next shootaround.” He poofed out of the dream and then I decided to talk to Swift. I locked my arms around her hips, looked her in the eyes and–realized she was a redhead when I thought she’d was blond (it turned out she wore a blond wig). I said “You don’t know me and that’s okay. I don’t have enough money or power to be your boo, but everyone needs a devil’s advocate to vent to that’s not a part of your life. If you need that, here’s my phone.” Then I gave her my phone number. She smiled and said “I only talk to people on Twitter.” [the weirdness of this then woke me up]
4/12/22 #1: I was in a covered eating area at a park. I was playing catcher in a 5v5 game and it was the Cubs vs. the Cardinals. The Cardinals were cheating. I caught a foul tic for a third strike and the ump said it wasn’t actually caught. I went to the commissioner to protest but the commissioner was Tony LaRussa and he just laughed at me. then handed me a bag and said, “You’re a loser. Eat some of these Skittles. They’ll make you a winner.”
4/12/22 #2: I was in a house with bad guys. I needed to escape in order to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Cubs. I got out of the house without being seen but it turned out there were POWs in the basement and a big explosive was planted in the ceiling, so I needed to get them out. I peeked through a window into the living room, went downstairs. The POWs weren’t guarded. I told them we could escape and they told me it needed to wait until they were done with the current hand of a card game. I left without them.
4/12/21: Someone I taught with died (Tom Grady). For the funeral, I couldn’t find a parking spot, so I wound up parking at the neighbors’ house. The neighbors turned out to be the Nuxolls’ (our current neighbors) summer home–it was a big mansion with a cobblestone parking area with random columns built to keep semi-trucks out. It turned out Grady wasn’t dead. He was a submarine commander who was attacked and fled with the subs of his command to St. Louis where he would be protected–except he was arrested and made a prisoner of war. It turns out 80 years later, he was still alive.
I was brought in because I was an expert on Tom Grady…so they escorted me through this big office building and a sideways-moving elevator to a HUGE office where there were lots of small groups. They were all worried about the future and were going to learn Tom Grady’s lessons so we could save the world. Apparently all of the world’s problems stemmed from Grady disappearing.
I knew all of this extra stuff because I was holding a pinwheel-on-a-stick up to my ear which was giving me a briefing on who the groups sitting around were and why Grady was actually important rather than what textbooks said.
