Dreams – 2/4

2/4/24 #1: I needed to use the bathroom in my mom’s house upstairs, but there was a crowd of men in the hallway and it was dark. When I got to the bathroom, I realized it was on the first floor now so I had to shut the Venetian blinds but I couldn’t get them at an angle to block the view. I also realized the bathroom was only half as wide as it was normally–and that the toilet paper was orange.

2/4/24 #2: I was standing at a bar with a female professor arguing about whether the US should be permitted to build CVL in Pacific wargames or if that capability existed in other counters–because if they were available to build, they’d get built because everyone loves aircraft carriers. She argued it was ok because of water currents and had a game board that showed the CVL would have to keep moving in a circle around a specific island (that might have been Antarctica).

2/4/24 #3: I was in a big empty house at night. I kept going up and down the stairs because I was forgetting things for my bedtime bath. I was tiptoeing because I didn’t want to make noise but then heard someone–and realized I was only wearing a t-shirt and no bottom, so I started tiptoeing like cartoon characters (with high knees and exaggerated steps).

2/4/22 #1:

I was sitting in the circle drive where I went to high school but it was in front of the second building instead. I was sitting on a lawn chair when a semi pulled up and parked. Jeff Arnold popped out of the truck. He forgot to put the brakes on so the truck started rolling away and crashed into a brick wall. When I got there to make sure he and the truck were okay, it turned out it was Dave P. who was the driver and he said people confused him for Jeff all the time.

2/4/22 #2:

I was in Bettendorf looking for Brian Melmen [someone I went to 1st grade with and haven’t seen since] but couldn’t find his street because of all the jungle near where I went to school. I pulled onto a side street and saw this little medical building. There was a volleyball practice just ending. The guy running it was Craig J. He said only three people showed up so they played boardgames instead and then he reminded me my wife and daughter needed the car back because they had business in Iowa City.

2/4/22 #3:

I walked into a gym–it was OSU’s Exhibition Gym except it was painted sky blue and was well lit. I got mad because there was all this video equipment still set up along with a stat bag because LLCC players got on a bus for their trip without thinking of taking everything. This made me mad and I started putting everything together determined to coach again. I got everything in a bag, went to the A.D.’s office, but he had a girl and parents in his office on a recruiting visit. I asked if he would still be there in a few minutes. He said yes. I then went to go upstairs to get on the bus but halfway upstairs I knew I was just angry–and really sad–because I couldn’t get on the bus…and that I wouldn’t go back down to the AD’s office. I was just going to go home. […woke up melancholy after this one.]

2/4/21: I was sitting in a computer classroom–except it was the LLCC Fitness center. Everyone was facing out towards the baseball field and parking lot. I was in the middle row. We were waiting for the meeting to start when Tor told everyone that the AD (Ron) had decided to retire immediately because they found out his daughter was growing really fast and would get to play pro volleyball as soon as she turned 16. Ron came in and everyone said congratulations–and he turned stop-sign red and was really mad at Toricelli for telling everyone the news. I felt weird because I wondered if that would affect the day I chose as my retirement.
