Dreams – 2/26

2/26/25:I was talking to Richard Launius on the phone to tell him I wasn’t going to make it to his “House Convention”. He said that was ok because he was doing it only to help out a “friend from the university who just died.” I hung up and went outside–and Richard was there with me and we were walking on my Walcott property. Richard was impressed. I noticed it was now elevated and you could see a forest across the highway and below us the Mississippi was flowing–then I realized that was just flooding and the water couldn’t get off the farmland. Richard was wearing big hiking boots. We wound up on separate trails with me about 10′ above Richard as we walked back to the house. I noticed his trail was clean while mine had horse poop everywhere.

2/26/24 #1: I was in Chicago–which was a city with just one long street. I got a job at the police commissioner’s office and needed to take the commuter train to get there. The commuter train’s cars were I-beams on wheels with a pole over head to hang onto, except the pole was right next to a wire that would electrocute you if you touched it. The I-beam was narrow enough my feet were longer than the beam was wide so I worried about falling off into the car traffic on both sides of the train. Then I realized that the train took longer to get from place to place than if I walked, so I jumped off when it passed my building and I went into the building–which had an entrance like a movie’s old-time western saloon.

2/26/24 #2: I was in bed at my sister’s house (which isn’t what her house is like) when she jumped on the bed and woke me up. I got up and left. I blinked and I was standing in a room where they were hosting an awards ceremony–it was for a former Jr High player named Lynnae but all the guests were people who do not like me in real life(!) so when she got the award, I left while people were clapping. I blinked again and I was driving down Kirkwood Boulevard in Davenport to my sister’s house but I realized when I reached it, she had been hosting the award ceremony and didn’t like me either.

2/26/23 #1: I was in what used to be the northernmost end of Davenport. I got lost trying to find Marycrest College, so I parked my car in a circle drive and everything changed to a top-down view like video games have in the corner of the screen. A red dot was approaching me–it was a woman dressed in all-black, so I got in my car and drove somewhere else. I stopped in some barren hills made of salt. The woman was there, too, cradling a clipboard in her hand, and that’s when it became night. It was foggy and I couldn’t read the street signs because I now knew I had to get to West Hayes St. [the street my dad lived on as a teen].

2/26/23 #2: I was a student-teacher at a Marine Corps event. I got to the dorm and found out everyone else was there to get famous on a reality TV show and were bumping/grinding/making out, especially the people in rooms with connecting sliding doors. I went outside and was handed a tub that I had to take to go get all my clothes and belongings for the week, but I didn’t know where I was going, so I started heading towards the people coming my way with white tubs. Getting the stuff was called “Project 111”.

2/26/22: I was trapped repeatedly. First, I was confined in a car trunk. Then I was in a car that had sunk to the bottom of a big body of water. After that, I was swimming and tried to get underneath a 1,000lb person but I failed and they sat on my legs, pinning me.

2/26/21: I was in a war–in a small room like the size of my grandmother’s kitchen. I was helping to defend the refrigerator from Nazis (they were in black uniforms with red trim) coming up the stairs behind the refrigerator. Someone inside the refrigerator would hand me muskets to fire at the Nazis. Then one of the Nazis turned out to be a former student, Dr. Steve M. (who is far, far, far from being a Nazi!). I shot at him but the gun misfired so I put a bayonet through his shoulder. At that point, I ran away–and somehow transformed into his wife…he chased me, so I climbed in my wheelchair to get away. He got in one, too, and chased. Then I had a tire blowout, so I stopped on some grass. Steve stopped, too, and said “We should all be friends.”

2/26/19: I’ve been traveling the United States for years, seeking opinions on my Willie Nelson imitation. Truly, I was on the road again. And again. And again.
