Dreams – 2/24
2/24/23:
I was playing football. We wore blue shirts with red iron-on numbers. I was standing far behind the quarterback who was in the shotgun in case the center over-tossed the ball. He rolled out to the right and I started racing forward. The defense chased him and then he threw it to a receiver who caught it on the right sideline and then tripped and was down. The QB looked at me and I recognized him as Alex Espinoza, Iowa State QB in the 80s. He wondered why I lined up so deep and I said so that I could catch a lateral and because I was the punter. On the next play, it was suddenly very dark and I had to punt. I hit it towards the left sideline and it bounced and bounced and came to rest inside a set of bamboo reeds in the field of play.
2/24/22:
I was in a hotel that was attached to a dorm which was attached to the third floor of the Parks Library at Iowa State. I was in a line checking out and decided to find a copy of the Des Moines Register while waiting. I found the library’s copy all messed up from college kids–found the Metro and Weekend sections but not the off-colored front section or the sports and I really wanted to read about ISU’s basketball game. At this point, my dog Jaeger ran past me to sniff at something–there were other dogs and she was happy sniffing right beside them. I picked her up and carried her under my armpit out of the library telling her she was a good girl.
2/24/16:
They changed the rules for uniforms, so you could have any number on the uniform you wanted. We got new ones–the girls wanted tshirts. So we got them, but we received a truck-load, so that some of the uniforms had numbers up to 60,000. That didn’t seem strange–my concern wound up being “How am I going to write ‘60,000’ into the little circle on the lineup sheet?”
