Dreams – 2/14

2/14/25: I was on the ground looking up at an overcast sky when the clouds parted and revealed a large airplane traveling across the sky. Behind the plane, the sky turned dark and I could see stars and then I realized the plane was silhouetted against another planet–the Earth, so that I wondered what planet I was suddenly standing on.

2/14/24: [Context: Starting to send out orders today for the Foundation] I was paralyzed in the dream, unable to move. We were getting ready to work on mailing games and Julie said she got a ‘great, great deal’ on postage. I saw that that meant everybody’s package was covered in their personal information–photos of their family, birthdates, death dates of spouses, interspersed with spam/advertising that covered the entire outside of the package. I thought it made everything ugly and Julie said “That’s just business with the Post Office.”

2/14/23 #1: There was a pirate U-boat during World War 2. It was a group of all-star pirates, so that no more than two crew could be from a single country. It had a secret island base and was known to have sunk a cruise ship between Hawaii and California that sank very slowly. History books wondered why the ship never sent an SOS, so it took a long time for people to find the survivors on their rowboats.

2/14/23 #2: I was playing a boardgame at a big card table in my grandparents’ front room with Dave, Eric, Erik, and two other people then Eric and Erik disappeared. When they came back, they said they had gone to “Showtime Pizza” with Curt, but they didn’t eat any pizza, they just played video games there. Eric said no one ate the pizza in the whol place because “No one wants to eat plastic cheese, duh.” While they were gone Dave and I kept taking turns so we had built up big advantages in the game.

2/14/22: I was driving to a sporting event–volleyball I think. I stopped to read something and heard buses go past me. I kept driving but I went too far. My car wouldn’t run so I started jogging back to my other car. I ran past two bright red muses parked at McDonald’s. They were filled with athletes from my former employer laughing at me running on a four-lane busy city street. I was saddened by this because I was running faster than traffic was moving and thought they should be proud of me being in shape rather than laughing. I stopped at a hybrid Blockbuster-clothing store. I purchased a bag of something and when I went to sign for it, the clerk wouldn’t accept the pen I was using. The manager came out and said it was okay and that he’d been to the Quad Cities before. I thanked him and told him Economy Roofing put the roof on most of Kansas City’s hotels.

2/14/21: I was riding in a van with Mr. Keller, a PE teacher from grade school. Everyone was in the van returning to school, but Keller was upset because he couldn’t find a parking place around ‘the circle’, so eventually he told us to get out and go through the kitchen. I walked in and I wasn’t a little kid any more. I was grown…and in the hallway there by the school’s front doors, my mom was standing. I was upset, so she had me come get a hug and while she hugged me, she faded away and left me alone standing there.
