Dreams – 12/22
12/22/24: There was an alarm siren which signaled the beginning of World War 3. I was in an old castle with white rocks and they started sliding a gate sideways into place to prevent access to the castle. The castle was tall but the gate was twice as high as the castle. I blinked and then I was in a boardroom for a meeting but everyone was talking about heading south. A short, bald guy with glasses who was fat asked if anyone needed a ride. I wondered when he was leaving and he thought back to me “Pretty soon because I want to stop by Pete’s Sushiware on the way. It’s dollar roll night.” I admired someone who would order sushi from a hardware store and thought back “I prefer to get mine from Hy-Vee.”
12/22/23: I was in a trailer home getting ready for a basketball game. I stepped outside and saw our coach–who was Julie Andrews, dressed like coaches are on TV sitcoms. I blinked and I was in a hallway next to a desk with stuff for a ‘pink night’ including black baseball caps that was in a hallway right across from a room open to the hall/built like a market vendor stall. There were two men there wearing midnight blue baseball uniforms. The guy sitting had the number five on his. He was the school principal and he was asking about a player to the other coach. The other coach key saying “His dad’s a good man” in response. I walked down the hall to leave because they were ignoring me/I realized I wasn’t supposed to be there. I was carrying a box to my car when students came out of nowhere, filling the room. D.P., a former VB setter, was wearing a white shirt with brown stripes and a ‘popped’ collar. She was surprised to see me and said “Hi, Dave.’ Then other VB players started whispering as I walked out of the building at which point there was a loud “Bye, Dave!” yelled by a group of people behind me.
12/22/22: Central Illinois was a hex map for the computer game ‘Ozymandias’. When an empire took over Lincoln College and MacMurray College, they wound up getting shut down because they had no armies of their own. I said “Told you so” but there wasn’t anyone around me.
12/22/21 #1: I was in my mom’s dining room in a corner holding on to someone who was holding on to me because we were scared. There were holes in the middle of the floor with heating vent covers but there were things coming through them. We couldn’t tell if they were lines of taffy or poisonous snakes. They were bright colors with white stripes down their length. We could only save ourselves by pinching the ends–but if they were snakes, we knew that would just make them mad and want to bite us.
12/22/21 #2: I was in bed and woke up when I heard a noise. I went to the door and there was a small hallway. I heard a piano and went towards it. I saw Col. Shushko of the USMC there in his boxers as well [I’ve only ever met Shushko once more than two years ago]. We opened the door and then covered our ears in pain as my friend Dave P. hit a special chord on the piano that shook the whole place. Next to him on a bed was my sister. She turned over, looked at Dave, then rolled back over and went back to sleep.
12/22/20 #1: I was a passenger in a drone following a ’65 Mustang through the Ardennes–but it wasn’t really a Mustang and it had a sunroof. It may have been a Hot Wheel.
12/22/20 #2: I was a HS student at some conference but no one would sit with me because I didn’t have the itinerary. I also didn’t submit poetry to get published in their book but a copy of the book was in my backpack I didn’t know I owned.
12/22/20 #3: Julie was at a conference for the Ethical Survivalists. It was on a rocky island and the road kept twisting around and never reaching the top–but man did it have reinforced concrete pylons…and I realized the island was where those pylons grew.
