Dreams – 11/20

11/20/24: My mom was sitting on a couch under the fireplace in our Davenport home. She kept reaching up on the mantel for a glass of beer and one of wine. I realized she was becoming an alcoholic and I tried to get her to stop but she kept getting drink after drink. Then the couch was in my grandparents’ house in Keokuk and Grandma was next to her, resting her head on my mom’s shoulder. My mom was now drinking and taking pills and I knew she was trying to kill herself. I thought at her “Why did you let Pete rub off on you?” but she didn’t say anything at which point I realized I desperately needed to know my Aunt Barb’s phone number.

11/20/22 #1: I wasn’t feeling good but I had a presentation to give–I was also supposed to sing–so Julie injected toothpaste into the middle of the microphone so that my mouth would feel clean the entire time.

11/20/22 #2: Julie and I went across the street from our house to look at another one to buy. It was next to woods and a lake. No one was home but we decided to go in anyways. We reached the downstairs and saw a bedroom. It was messy but we avoided disrupting anything and then found it connected to a secret garage/concrete room. This room had a stash of games and books on shelves next to a window. Outside, our real-life neighbor was playing soccer with two three-year olds. The games included purple RPG books in calligraphy for ‘Starship Troopers’ and unpublished prototypes from Avalon Hill like “Pacific Fog” and “Small Town Squad Leader” and a version of “Vietnam, 1965-1975” that was in tie-dye psychedelic colors. Even if we didn’t buy the house, I knew I’d like the house owner but since the house was small, I wondered where he set up all the games???

11/20/21: I went inside a dining center at Iowa State [though awake, the building design looked more like the dining center out at Quantico] and was going to eat alone because I didn’t think anyone wanted to eat with me–I was walking down a hall towards an escalator when two college-age girls appeared on either side of me and linked arms with me–somehow I knew them and the one on my left was someone I “knew” I had dreamed about–she was short with frizzy brown/red hair. The other one said, “You know you missed us!” and then together we skipped the rest of the way to the escalator heading up for food.
