Dreams – 10/27
10/27/23:
I was standing in the doorway to my office closet when I decided to use the shelf to do pull ups. While I was doing the pull-ups, I noticed there was paint peeling and plaster cracking, and that Julie had to have known about this because there were bits of colored cardboard disguising where these things were happening–and in the corner she’d placed a sliver of a concrete block to hide a hole and help hold the shelving unit in place.

I was waiting to bat at a baseball game. There was a bat clamped to the dugout wall (which was in my kitchen). It was shaped like a little kid’s plastic bat with exaggerated barrel, except it was all metal. The handle was rusty with the rubber grip missing. I know it weighed 22oz. It was my turn to bat and I had to walk behind the umpire to get to the left-hand batter’s box. While I was walking the ump let the pitcher throw a strike. I got upset. The ump said I was late. I also noticed that everything immediately in front of me was ‘normal’ while things to my right were stretched out in terms of distance–except for the pitcher’s mound which was only 20-30 feet away. First base was 3-4 times farther than it was supposed to and I could see the outfield fence near the horizon…I stepped in and the ump said, “Go ahead, Randy–make it a good one.” Then the pitcher threw and hit me right below the armpit. The ump said, “Strike two” but the pain of getting hit woke me up in real life.

[only a bit remembered] I was in a dark area and it was cold so I put the hood up on my sweatshirt thinking if I pulled it far enough forward no one would recognize me, but everyone there still recognized me because my beard was so big. [currently I have two months’ growth of a beard…]
