Dreams – 10/20

10/20/24 #1: I was riding a camel and we wound up in water at night, then the water got cloudy and I couldn’t tell how deep it was, then there were fallen trees, etc, but the camel kept going faster and faster, then it suddenly tried to stop but couldn’t because there was a waterfall and we went over and I hit a patch of earth and the camel disappeared. I was okay but I hadn’t realized that the Mississippi River had waterfalls on it. 10/20/24 #2: I was in Hilton Coliseum for a ROTC gathering, except when I got into the aisle, I realized I was barefoot and the concrete was cold and I would get in trouble. Then I was walking outside at night because I’d been ordered to find “I Xes”. I couldn’t and knew I would get yelled at by drill sergeants. I made sure not to cut through grass because it was cold–but I noticed the town’s sidewalks were cracked. I went into a garage and had a Sgt. Major yell at me. I handed him my order sheet and he yelled some more because it wasn’t supposed to say “I Xes”–it was supposed to say “Texas” which was the name of the mechanic on duty. I went to Texas and he handed me a Waffle House menu. (The Waffle House menu comes from watching a video short about a football fan holding a W.H. menu like a play sheet.)

10/20/23:

I was running alongside a white brick/concrete building that had no windows or doors, racing to get to the entrance still open, so I could watch “Blue Sky Basketball” play in the WNBA Title Game [I can’t stand the WNBA…what’s it doing in my dream?] They were closing a gate over the entrance and the woman inside blocked me and gave me a threatening look. I told her (but I didn’t say anything) I was looking for ‘The Manager’ and she told me (without saying anything), she was in the other building and pointed across the street. I went to cross the street and realized I was at the intersection outside the Wash U. Occupational Therapy building except it was rotated 180-degrees. I wondered how they moved the intersection out of St. Louis. Then I woke up with Rainbow’s “Stone Cold” running through my brain.

10/20/22:

[fragment only] I was on my deathbed somewhere giving a final soliloquy through a microphone in my hand.

10/20/21:

I was in a room that felt like either an elementary school or a greenhouse. There were pipes/ducts I was ducking under to walk near the windows. It was hot so I was in skivvies. I looked out the window and it was gray and rainy. The window frame/sill was made of metal. I wanted to open them but they were painted shut. That’s when I noticed the back of Jaeger’s neck was yellowish and crusty. She just stood motionless. I realized she had been in the trash and rolled her neck/head around a crushed egg. I asked why but she didn’t answer.

10/20/14:

My team was playing a now-defunct program in Ohio State’s Exhibition Gym (which is gone now, too). We won the first two games 25-0, so the other team decided between games 2+3 that a fan would get to filibuster and delay the match by reciting Shakespearean blank verse. I objected that this was illegal. The R2 said: “You should learn the rules / He can recite all they want / Sit down and shut up.” I informed the R2, “That’s haiku, you moron”…and was tossed from the match: “We know all poem forms / Officials must speak haiku / Goodbye, you loser.”
