Dreams – 1/26

1/26/25: I was talking to a “Nigerian” sitting in a white car at the 45/Blacktop intersection. I was explaining to the driver how I liked to lay down on a piece of cardboard in the ditch to relax when it was spring–but I had to make sure the grass was dry.

1/26/24 #1: I was in a house that was white and perfectly square. My grandfather was in the room (though I couldn’t see him). It was dark and I realized I had been asleep and that the house had been picked up by a tornado and that I had to keep my hands on a bright white cylinder if I wanted to control where it landed but I was scared because I didn’t know how hard it would land.

1/26/24 #2: I was in a living room and people were playing games at two tables. I was at the first table and got confused by the rules of a card/board game because you had to have certain cards at certain times and the game owner (Owen Wilson) either didn’t know the rules or had combeind cards from different games because he kept drawing cards from the deck and saying “We can’t use that” and they were weird combos of cards–the USS Atlanta, a card with ocean that said “CARRIER”, and a Land card that had a picture of a British Napoleonic soldier. On the other table, they had a Pacific naval game and the dream kept zooming in and out from the game board to a ‘strategic screen’ like a computer game where things were dots. Players had to send out searches and play cards to prepare strikes and discard cards to ready airplanes. I ‘zoomed in’ and saw the American player didn’t realize his carrier was being attacked. It had yellow counters with red writing on them saying “Static bomb” and “Torpedo” on them and he had planes on the deck. I said something and he said “I don’t have cards to discard” so he sat there doing nothing. Then I was at the far end of the room (which was my grandparents’ main room) and I said “What’s it going to be boy, I can wait all night” and then from Owen Wilson’s table, I heard Erik Johnson start singing the song (I only saw the top of his head but I know it was Erik) and then Phil Cowan joined in. I mentioned Ellen Foley was the original singer but they said “No” and then kept singing in falsettos.

1/26/23:

I had a top-down view of a base within a mountain where I was defending the base along with a couple other people from invading aliens. It was set up like a pinball machine (except with the ball moving upwards rather than downwards) and we had to steer the ball over the aliens.

1/26/22:

I met a girl for a date in a restaurant. We sat in a round booth with velvet backed benches. She sat down, said “I’m not impressed” and left. I went back to my dormitory and my room was cleaned out though I noticed the room had hardwood floors which impressed me. I decided to go to the main part of campus and there were students outside the buildings gathering with sticks and pipes, etc. looking to attack students dressed in formal/prom attire inside the buildings. Some of them were armed, too. The outdoor students started advancing and I walked up to one group and said “Revolutions are easier to start than stop.” After that I walked over a bridge with lions at the entrance and realized I was in Budapest. I crossed the bridge, went to another restaurant, but a group of thugs surrounded me and said, “We don’t like your type around here…” so I left the restaurant and wondered where I should go next. [there was something in the dream about counting fried eggs/bacon and that your allotted food was based on what grade in school you were]

1/26/21:

I was sitting at an outdoor cafe that felt like it was in New Orleans with a 4-yr college coach. He was drinking wine. We were talking about my libero and her transferring to his school. The weird thing–our table was courtside to a tournament and he mentioned that while my player did all right, one of the players they recruited was playing next. She came out and she was like 6’4, 230–total athletic build. He said her name was Aubrey Hensen and that she was signed through med school. since she wouldn’t use an eligibility as an undergrad because of the pandemic.

1/26/11:

I was playing Texas Hold ‘Em with guys from college on Foster. One was cheating (faceless guy), but I made $100k from it, so I said it was Dave Meythaler who cheated–he was chased through a Hyatt Convention Center for it and kicked out of Iowa State. He got even by pouring lemonade on all my socks so I was forced to have sticky feet all year.
