Dreams – 1/11
1/11/25: I was standing on River Dr. in Davenport–except it was in Korea. That’s when nuclear explosions began on the other side of nearby mountains to the north and west. I moved to stand as close to the mountains as possible–the mountains had a sheer drop so I could not climb them/like they were the edge of a video game map. Debris started dropping, things like branches, then cars, and houses, and I dodged them, moving like a Pong/Breakout —- in a 70s video game. I was then in our Sigel home. We decided not to go anywhere initially until we knew where radiation went. Trucks were still running but no cars were outside. We had a food supply and we filled garbage bags with water (securing them with grocery store twist-ties). I thought we could move to the top of mountains to avoid the radiation from spreading but I wanted lots of people with me, so I walked down the street to see if the Lawrences were home. They were (because Matt was mowing–he was young in the dream rather than in his 50s), so I went home to tell my wife (not sure it was Julie in the dream), then went to the Lawrences but couldn’t find their house. Houses on the way were now in a hilly area where the houses had peeling paint and gravel was everywhere.
1/11/24: I was watching a cutaway view/two-dimensional–like a video game. Two teams were digging into the Earth trying to be the first to dig deep enough, they could strike a volcano. I knew if they did this that a chunk of the circle/world would be lopped off/that the Earth would be destroyed. I just kept watching rather than warn them or do anything about it.
1/11/23: I was painting the frame of a door midnight blue. Then I was stenciling the letter “E” sideways on the door repeatedly (maybe doing it as stickers?) I was using a powder to make sure the Es were smooth but when I stepped away, I saw it had discolored the paint, so the door looked like it was striped.
1/11/22: I was sitting at a scorer’s table waiting for LLCC to play–there was a match behind me as well. The two teams were standing at the net but weren’t shaking hands and I realized the other team was led by Kaley Hennings (an LLCC alum) but none of them saw me or knew I was there. I was apparently on a chair with rollers and pushed my way to the end of the court against the wall–which turned out to be the north wall of my grandparents’ home, right next to her curio case. I realized I was going to be stuck sitting right behind the line judge when I also noticed I was sitting next to Carrie Pike (someone I coached in HS 1998-2001) who hugged me and said she was sad I wasn’t out there coaching. I nodded but I was wondering how they fit two courts in my grandparents’ living room and if my grandparents gave permission to play there.
