We awoke and drove to the parking of a short walk for breakfast. Some yummy pancakes later, walked up to the Riwaka Resurgence, where a big river emerged from a mountain cave – with VERY cold water!! After that we headed back to Motueka, stopping by a mechanic for some suggestions on overheating. He recommended a radiator specialist in Motueka, and so we followed the suggestion. Andrew (the radiator guy) wasn’t sure if that was the issue, but I decided to let him check it, to narrow the possibilities. While undergoing repairs, we went to a library to charge phones. I stayed and Marianne went for a walk. Later, getting a message from Andrew, we went back to see Sue.

She was fixed! The radiator had been 80% blocked! But freshly cleaned the engine stayed cool. Regrettably the next few hours of the day were wasted chasing a phantom walking track. An adventure was finally found at the Abel Tasman National Park, where we fast paced a walk to the Apple Tree Bay. Satisfied we chased after Cut Apple Rock. This was slightly disappointing. Driving back around from Marahau to Kaiteriteri, we completed the mini coastal circuit and decided the easiest place to sleep was back in the caravan park where we ad awoken.
