As we woke up near the lake the sun was already shining and warming up the place. We tried to find the exit of the campsite and got a little confused (there was only 1 way). We drove again around Pukaki lake to find a nice spot having breakfast overlooking at the snowy mountains. We had few pancakes, listening to Queen. We went to do the peninsula walk in a sheep paddock but it was quite hot and without shade. We turned back after seeing lots of rabbits and then drove near the Lake Alexandria to find some toilets. We didn’t find the walk so we went back to the agriculture trial area which was full of colourful lupins. We stopped in Tekapo to do the Mt John summit walk. Through a shady pine forest we made it to the top near the observatory (the Tekapo springs were very tempting!). I took one Pokemon Gym at the top and we walked back to town to have lunch. Then we crossed the footbridge to reach the east side of the town and to look at the church of the good Sheppard and the dog statue.

We decided to explore the regional park nearby but it ended up quite disappointing. It was just a big pine forest with road and we saw a new married couple taking few pictures. Driving away, we made a stop at Kimbell for a toilet and snack break. We found the library and luckily, even on Sunday, the wifi wasn’t turned off. Then started for a long time searching for a house to rest at. I sent two requests and got the answers before we left the town. Very lucky we even got the cheapest deal! We asked a lady about walks around and ended up walking on a bushy abandoned path. Jack climbed up a big tree to take some cool photos. We had some fun in the playground before driving to the campsite for the night. On the dirt road we drove past a lime kiln and saw a walk we could do the next day. We also saw a cute hedgehog. At the campsite we met another Frenchman, Xavier. A nice guy working and travelling avoiding to stick with other French. We had dinner and kept chatting. Late in the evening we invited Xavier, Enya (In – ya) and Julia (2 German travellers) to play cards. We had some long and fun games before going to bed pretty tired.
