We woke up at 7:30am to get ready to leave at 10am. Packing the car and cleaning (Sue had a little vacuum!), we left our nice hosts and went to parking at the warehouse. We walked around, trying to see a church and met some bubbly French people on the way. Then we went to the Art museum. It was interesting but we were a little tired and hungry. We brought subway for lunch while Esther had a kebab, and got watched by lots of noisy seagulls. The sparrows were cute though. The rain restarted to fall as we made our way back to the cars. Jack and I went to the botanical garden in Dunedin and focused to see the birds in the aviary (birds like flowers!) and the lower/flatter part of the garden. There was a choir singing Christmas songs and we shopped at NW before heading to Purakaunui. We had a nice walk on a beach, seeing outdoor rock climbers and exploring little rocky caves. Realising that the road was very hilly and we were running out of fuel, we abandoned the other tracks we wanted to do on the peninsula and drove back to town.

A bit disappointed by the day and all that drive for not much, we went to cheer up with pizza hut pizza. We still didn’t see Esther since lunch time and drove to the next free camping site at Warrington Reserve. There we had a small walk on the sand dunes. The wind was quite heavy and cold. We got a little lost coming back to the car via the beach and had a quick try at the playground. The campsite was crowded and most of people were spying on others.  Jack saw a couple playing a card game and dared to go and ask them if we could join. Aaron and Mike (Mike is a girl), two German travellers, were lovely people and taught us their game. I sucked at it but we had a great time until late night (even one guy gave us some seats to play at the table! Nice of him!). Esther showed up but she was too tired for a game. We left our new friends as the rain was falling a little and bugs were attracted by the light globe. The drunk and vomiting guys finally shut down, making everything nice and quiet.
