Rose early to the sounds of horses, then collected Esther and went to the library for breakfast. Full of energy and with good weather I took the girls to Chalkies Track, a steep three and a half hour return tramp. Quickly in, Marianne was tested by a steep slope with a rope, and while doubtful, easily climbed up. The track was enjoyable, occasionally offering great views amongst the forest. Flowers were finally starting to appear, and I spotted some orchids as well. Reaching the top the track forked to Powder Hill Trig or Limestone formations. Picking limestone, this continued the loop back, and we never did get to the trig.

Returning back to the library we had a little time before we could go to our booked cottage. This was spent laying on the grass in the sun and shade, climbing on the playground equipment and shopping for the cottage. Tucked away on a wild 5 acre block, the cottage was cosy and isolated from the surrounding houses. The evening was spent with Wii, laundry, blogging, unpacking and a little exploring for me. Leaving the girls playing sonic, I made my way around the property finding a few bridges, swings and a seriously overgrown tennis court. Dinner was cider and nachos with self made salsa, which Esther had never tried. Slept late but also slept well.
