Day 4

Waking up at brooke street near a nursery and the river. Had breakfast in the car and went to the Nelson Pool at 7:30am for 1h swim and shower. Went to the library to charge Jack’s phone. Drove to the nearest beach to have subway and visit an (expensive!) zoo. Filling up all the water bottle and played with the broken gym equipment. Driving back to Nelson to do a bad walk near the jetty, a pretty walk in the Queens garden which has a lovely Japanese part, and checked the “botanical” (not really..) sports field.

Jack dragged me around for a couple of hours until we finally did a great steep walk in the Grampians (which had a fun rope swing; just for jack as it started to rain and the car was open Jack: Marianne was so scared to try). Had dinner next to an abandoned shop and then drove to the Maitai Dam car park (closer than google maps said) in the dark which was very scary… because it was the start of a cave walk.
