David Ng and Virgina Thomas, On Why We Need Our Children in the Worship Service
“Throughout history the church has tried, often imperfectly, to follow the example of Christ’s attitude toward children. The early church opposed abortion and the exposure of unwanted infants. Hospitals, schools, and orphanages developed as the church’s means of caring for children. Christian leaders led the fight to protect children from exploitation in the industrial revolution. Obedience to Christ demands a peculiar concern for children among us. It would be ironic indeed if we consider the welfare of children in every area except that most central point in our life – worship.” (Children in the Worshipping Community, pg. 3)
