Crosby Becomes Penguins Assists King

Sidney Crosby continues to reach milestones and set records. He reached another yesterday.

Crosby recorded his 1,034-career assist to take over the Pittsburgh Penguins franchise record. He passed Mario Lemieux to achieve the honor. He still trails Lemieux in total points through.

Crosby assisted on a power play goal by Michael Bunting in the second period that gave the Penguins a 2-0 lead. They would then go on to win the game by a 3-2 score over the New York Islanders. Crosby now has 30 assists this season and 40 points.

It’s good to see Crosby take over the Penguins record. It was also nice to see him do it on home ice. Can’t wait to see what else he accomplishes this season.
