Crochet Headed to Boston

Garrett Crochet was one of the bigger names that were floated around during the 2024 MLB trade deadline. He wasn’t delt however during that time frame. However he is moving on from Chiago now.

The Boston Red Sox acquired the hurler for four prospects. Kyle Teel, a catching prospect, Braden Montgomery, Chase Meidroth and Wikelman Gonzalez are all heading to the Chicago White Sox in the deal. Teel is the highest rated prospect at number 25 overall.

Boston gets a starting pitcher after failing to acquire Blake Snell and Max Fried via free agency. Chicago gets a much of prospects as they look to rebuild after losing 121 games in 2024. Was it enough for Crochet? Did waiting to deal him earn more than a trade deadline deal would have?

Will this deal help to move Boston past the New York Yankees? Have to see in 2025.
