Costco Next

I have learned a lot about different Costco services from writing this blog. Planning posts encourages me to read Costco news, reviews of new products, and the availability of special deals. I have recently learned about the Business Centers (Costco Business Centers), many services offered aside from the items sold in the store (Costco Services); (Additional Costco services?) and online shopping through Costco. My most recent learning is about something I had never even heard of…Costco Next.

Apparently, Costco Next enables members to save money on items from other companies. Then, these companies handle the shipping and any returns. Essentially, the Costco membership provides access to additional savings on items not actually sold at Costco. 

Here is some information about Costco Next. 

Many Brands Available

The article mentions that there are items from over 50 brands available through Costco Next. The items fill a wide variety of needs and interests. Items include beauty products, flooring, gym equipment, caskets, playhouses, bicycles, phone cases, slippers, baby toys, cookware, and luggage. 

Somehow it does not surprise me that Costco Next would offer a wide variety of items. I have written before about funny combinations in Costco shopping carts due to the eclectic selection at the warehouse. Why would an outside service be different?

Easy to Use

The website enables members to sign in to Costco Next with the membership number. Then, one can see the current available brands and then the items currently offered by that brand. 

The process sounds like my experience with Shutterfly, in which I saved a significant amount of money by entering the membership number (Quick Review: Costco and Shutterfly).

Some Very Good Deals

The author comments on the variety in the quality of the deals but that some are very good. She says that she has seen savings up to 30% to 50% off their original price.

The idea of large savings on name brand items is very appealing. 

Frequently Changing Inventory

The author cautions that the deals through Costco Next change. Therefore, it is important to buy items quickly, as the deals may disappear. She also draws attention to the presence of asterisks, indicating that items are not likely to be available any longer. 

I have complained about items being discontinued (It’s Gone? Discontinued Products.) However, it bothers me less if I am not “attached” to the items, as would be the case with these third party vendors. In the case of Costco Next, I like the idea of the products changing, as it makes it more fun to keep revisiting the site for new deals. I also like the added Costco connection of the asterisk (Price endings are not random).
