Costco March Madness Draft

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Several years ago, I come across a podcast that contained a few “food drafts” episodes. The podcasters were asked to choose items from several categories (e.g., best fast food burger). Once an item was selected, it could not be selected by anyone else. I can’t remember if they ever chose a “winner.”

Like many others, I create a bracket each year for March Madness. I don’t have any idea what I’m doing (does anyone, really?), don’t do research at all, and don’t particularly care. I just have fun watching when I have chosen teams.

More recently, I have searched for additional draft podcasts. They range in format, sometimes just choosing favorite items in different rounds and sometimes having listeners vote. They are about a range of topics (e.g., food; movies; sports moments; summer activities). They are a lot of fun to listen to.

My “draft” experience made me think it would be fun to ask some people who also love Costco to join a “Costco draft” with me. I created several categories and asked people to put their top items for each category (only factoring themselves, so not children or spouses, etc.). Some provided all of the requested information, whereas others were “delinquent” and left some items blank or did not specify brand (and as persistent (annoying??) as I can be, even I have my limits with the email reminders). I hope some readers will vote and maybe even create your own.

I promised the others that they would remain anonymous. I will name mine because it is likely obvious. I am also well aware that it would not come close to being the winner (partially because it’s all kosher and partially because I’m not an exciting eater.) Unfortunately, some of my favorite items (e.g., Golden Taste Tuna Deluxe; (Product Review: Golden Taste Tuna Deluxe)) have recently been discontinued. In addition, I learned of a recent change to at least one item (Kirkland Almond Butter; (Product Review: Kirkland almond butter)). Therefore, my list is different than it would have been only a few months ago. Due to the frequent discontinuation of items (It’s Gone? Discontinued Products), it’s likely that items on some of the lists may no longer be sold but these lists are based on current inventory at peoples’ local stores (and items differ across locations). If I have  reviewed items from my list or others’ lists, I will link to the review.
