Costco Deals for June/July
In trying to stay up to date on posts related to foods on special each month (New Items for February 2024); (Costco Deals in March 2024); (Costco Deals for April); (Costco Food Deals for May 2024); (Additional May Deals at Costco), here are some suggested items for June and July.
1. Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond Bars ($10.39 after $3.50 off)
The article suggests taking advantage of this deal on these ice cream bars. Each bar contains vanilla ice cream covered in a milk chocolate almond coating.
Although I have mentioned my lack of preference for novelties, I know many people love them. This brand is obviously high quality and a special treat to have in the freezer. In addition, it is actually ice cream vs. frozen daily dessert.
2. Bibigo Beef Bulgogi Mandu ($9.99 after $3.90 off)
The author suggests buying these dumplings filled with Korean-style beef bulgogi. She mentions that they can be prepared in a pan or an air fryer.
These are not kosher so not for me but dumplings always look good. For people who like beef, this item seems like a convenient side dish to keep in the freezer.
3. Starbucks K-Cup Pods2 ($31.99 after $8 off)
These pods are sold in boxes of 72 pods in
Pike Place Roast and French Roast. The article also mentions that some stores are offering other brands of coffee pods, including
Caribou and Newman’s Own (for $29.99 after $7 off).
I have mentioned before that I don’t drink coffee, despite absolutely loving the smell. I also love the idea of Keurig machines. I recognize that the quality of the coffee will not be as good as freshly ground. However, the idea of being able to just brew a quick cup is very appealing.
4. Vita Coco Coconut Water ($15.49 after $5.50 off)
Another summer deal is on this coconut water that is recommended for hydration and containing electrolytes.
I have never tried coconut water but have read about it. I have seen mixed information regarding whether it is actually healthier than plain water. I am curious to try it and see how much of a coconut taste it has. (I know coconut is a controversial flavor…I love it as long as it is not too sweet). It also seems “summery” so a fun option for warmer weather.
5. Clif Kid Organic ZBars ($16.99 after $6.50 off)
The article suggests these granola bars as an easily transportable snack. The boxes contain three varieties of bars (chocolate chip, iced oatmeal cookie, and chocolate brownie.)
I have never tried Clif bars. I thought they were protein bars and associated them with the sticky, chalky tasting bars I still associate with protein bars (despite huge improvements since the old Power Bars). I looked them up and learned they are more akin to granola bars. They look very good and each of the three flavors sounds tasty (one problem I often have with variety packs is not liking one of the flavors).
6. Tyson Rotisserie Chicken Breast Strips ($11.69 after $5 off)
Another deal on a convenient meal option is these chicken strips. The article suggests cooking the seasoned chicken in the oven, microwave, or on the stove.
I obviously wouldn’t eat the chicken but it has many benefits for those that would. It is easy to store in the freezer and make a few strips at a time, it can serve as an easy main component of a meal or as a side dish, and it does not require turning on the oven (saves time and enables avoidance of a hot kitchen).
7. Aidells Chicken & Apple Smoked Chicken Sausage ($10.69 after $4.30 off)
The article lists this sausage as a good option for summer grilling. There are two flavors of these fully cooked sausages (standard and organic chicken and apple).
Another item I wouldn’t buy. I’m actually surprised that sausages are listed as a common item for grilling. I associate them more with breakfast and don’t recall seeing them at many cookouts, where hotdogs seem to be the more popular item. However, they are often sold in sports arenas, so perhaps they are more common than I think.
8. Heinz Ketchup ($9.49 after $3.50 off)
The author recommends buying this ketchup for summer grills. Apparently, the discount applies to the three-bottle or to the two-bottle organic packages.
I love ketchup. Although I don’t eat much meat or french fries, the ketchup is one of the benefits of doing so. It is delicious on the fries, burgers, and meatloaf. Years ago, I would even sometimes make or choose certain meals, partially as an excuse to eat ketchup. For example, I went through a “tuna loaf” (I know, sounds awful but it was actually good) phase and always ate it with ketchup. In addition to using as a condiment itself, ketchup is good to have for adding to other recipes (e g., my mom’s sweet sauce for meatballs). Ketchup lasts a long time and is always good to have around.
9. Frito-Lay Select Mix ($13.99 after $5 off)
This deal is on the variety pack that contains six types of chips (Sour Cream & Onion Lays, Spicy Nacho Doritos, Cheetos Puffs, Cheddar & Sour Cream Ruffles, Chili Cheese Fritos, and Funyuns).
I don’t eat many chips and don’t actually think any of these sound good. However, I would have loved to see this deal (on more basic flavors) as a kid when I wanted chips as part of my lunch. The variety is also fun, although knowing several picky eaters, it is hard for me to imagine kids eating several of them.
10. Nutella ($10.29 after $4.40 off)
The author suggests buying and using Nutella plain, on toast, or in crepes.
Surprisingly, given my love of chocolate, I have never tried Nutella. I actually have never been interested in it, despite hearing others rave about it. I’m sure many will be excited about this summer discount.
Will you be buying any of these products on sale in June and July? Any other sale items you’d recommend?
