Combichrist is an electronic and industrial metal band founded in 2003 by Norwegian musician Andy LaPlegua, who is also known for his work with the band Icon of Coil. Originally starting as a purely electronic music project, Combichrist quickly evolved to incorporate elements of metal, rock, and hardcore, blending harsh electronic beats with aggressive guitars and intense vocals. The band’s sound is often described as aggrotech or electro-industrial, known for its dark, confrontational style and energetic live performances.

Combichrist is known for high-energy, chaotic live performances that often include intense lighting, visuals, and interactions with the audience. Their shows emphasize the aggressive themes in their music and have made them a popular choice for festivals and tours, especially among fans of industrial and metal genres.

At M’era Luna 2022, Combichrist delivered an intense set that exemplified their aggressive electro-industrial and aggrotech sound, much to the excitement of the festival crowd. Held in Hildesheim, Germany, this festival is known for featuring prominent artists in gothic, industrial, and electronic music genres. Combichrist’s performance was noted for its high energy, powerful percussion, and raw, industrial sound, which has defined the band since its formation in 2003 by frontman Andy LaPlegua.
