Columbus Clingstones

The Mississippi Braves are moving and also rebranding. They are now becoming the Columbus Clingstones for the 2025 season.

A clingstone is a name referring to a type of peach where the stones cling to the pit. With Georgia being the peach state, it makes sense to base a team in Columbus Georgia around the state fruit.

They have a peach orange, black and green set of hat and jersey. I like the color combo it looks good. It works well together.

I’m not the biggest fan of the name. It does make sense, but it’s also like really, couldn’t you have gone a bit deeper to come up with something better? It also reminds me a good bit of the Rome Braves Copa logo the Rome Peaches. Seriously pretty much copying from another affiliate team in your system.

Though it’s better than the Braves, just because it isn’t named directly after the parent club which I do like. I think I’d probably grade it a C.
